Strategic Objectives

  • Redevelop the identified border post to a modern (state of the art), cost-effective and efficient port of entry (“PoE”) that:
    • delivers global best practice;
    • is based on an optimal balance between infrastructure and technology interventions;
    • enables the organs of state to efficiently carry out their mandates and protect their interests at the PoE; and
    • facilitates regional trade
  • Develop an identified independent power plant that:
    • ensures security of electricity supply,
    • minimises the cost of that supply, and
    • limits water usage and reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
  • Allow for policy adjustments in support of broader socio-economic developmental imperatives.
  • Determine prospects for socio-economic development and job creation that can be implemented for the communities surrounding the PoE and IPP’s
  • Address and balance key host government imperatives.
