Andalusia Investments (Private) Limited, trading as “Zimborders” won the tender to modernise the Beitbridge Border Post in Zimbabwe on a “Build, Operate, Transfer” (BOT) concession basis by power of a Concession Agreement with the Republic of Zimbabwe, represented by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development.


On 28th June 2018 the concession to re-develop, upgrade and expand the Beitbridge border post was signed, and construction began in November 2020. The Project is currently fully operational. The operations phase occurred in two parts, namely early operations and operations phases, respectively. Early operations began on 18 September 2021 after the completion of freight terminal. Port works were completed in 11 November 2022, and non -port Works which included a staff village, water reservoir and pipeline, fire station, animal, plant and quarantine and sewer oxidation pond. The non-port works were constructed in parallel with the port works and the last of the non-port works was completed on 28 February 2023.
