The Forbes border post in Mutare City, Zimbabwe, will undergo a major upgrade through a 20-year PPP concession awarded to the Forbes Border Consortium.

Forbes Border Post Zimbabwe

The Forbes border post is located in Mutare City, 263 kilometres southeast of Harare and 300 kilometres from Beira port in Mozambique. It is the second largest border post in Zimbabwe for import-export trade (after the BBP) and is the interface between Mozambique and Zimbabwe on the busy Beira Corridor.

On 28th January 2025 the Forbes Border Consortium was awarded the concession to re-develop, upgrade and expand the existing border post which will include the construction, operation and maintenance of the upgraded border post over a 20-year period. The Project is Public Private Partnership (PPP) for a 20 year ‘Build-Operate-Transfer’ (BoT) Concession.
